Andrea Broadwater

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

I provide online counseling sessions using Doxy.me, Sessions by Psychology Today. Telephone sessions also available.

Therapy is about prioritizing your needs, protecting your core values, and cultivating a positive relationship with yourself. Whether you are struggling with an Eating Disorder, Trauma symptoms, Anxiety or Depression, you deserve to acknowledge the goodness that is at the core of being human and cultivate a meaningful relationship with your emotions, body and food. It means trusting yourself enough to make choices that foster your resilience, even when others may resist or disagree. In essence, therapy is a space to learn how to have your own back.

In our uncertain world, it’s easy to overlook your experience or needs and  misinterpret it as indulgence or selfishness. Yet, as you embrace the practice of self-care and introspection, you will find that you can show up more fully for those you love and share your unique gifts with the world in impactful ways. No longer feeling imprisoned to those uncomfortable feelings or emotions.

Embracing your emotions, embodiment and needs has been shown to alleviate feelings of depression, stress, and anxiety, while enhancing confidence, productivity, and overall resilience. I want you to connect with a life that incorporates respect for you and others every day.

I fully incorporate an Anti-racist, Feminist HAES model into my practice with every client, regardless of focus. We are unable to look at Trauma, Eating Disorders, Anxiety and Depression without acknowledging the oppressive sysmtems, like patriarchy and white supremecy that cause, fuel and influence our lives every day. I also use an attachment lens to understand the needs that went unmet early in development to foster understanding of how these led to struggles as an adult and reduce shame. Mindful self-compassion strategies will be at the center of the emotional regulation and resilience building of our work together. Collectively, these widely scientifically substanstiated models, alongside curiosity and commitment from us will result in a more joyful life.

I provide 15 min free phone consultations to ensure a good fit for both of us, so reach out and schedule a time to chat.
